Major League Gaming Announces MLG Orlando -- January 8-10!

Major League Gaming is proud to announce that the fifth and final stop of the 2009 Pro Circuit will take place in Orlando, FL on January 8-10. The MLG Pro Circuit will feature open competitions in both Halo 3 and Gears of War 2, culminating in the crowning of a 2009 National Champion in each game. MLG will also crown a National Champion in the invitation-only World of Warcraft competition. In addition, Orlando will play host to the EA SPORTS Challenge. The event will feature top players duking it out in Madden 10, NBA Live 10, and Fight Night Round 4. Over $380,000 in prize money will be awarded over the course of the weekend, meaning the level of competition and excitement will be at an all-time high! You don't want to miss it.

Many critics dub the new Halo 3 ODST release a mere "expansion pack" to halo 3 mainly due to the short storyline and fillers placed in. Halo 3 ODST definitely plays like it was a mere 3 hour side story off of the halo saga.

Two things bother me about ODST.

One, its 60 bucks. I remember on bungie.net a couple months ago them considering to release it at the price of 40. So they think if they throw in Halo Reach Beta and a few side minor addons that they can just bump the price to 60? Why not design a spartan themed pong game and tack on another 10 bucks bungie? I'd rather pay 60 for bungie to fix bullet registration.

Two, FILLERS! From what I've read on arstechnica there seems to be a lot of fillers in place to extend the already short gameplay. I mean searching around town for audio tapes? What is this Fallout 3? Don't tell me I'm going to have to trek across the city wasteland isolated from any battles or social actions.

Overall it's sad I'm actually going to pay 60 dollars for this game so Shishkala, Lucas, Frankster....... or whatever can continue to post pointless weekly updates on Bungie. But who knows.... Next year Bungie is going to release Halo ODST 2011 with the pro-shot system to make Halo more realistic. /maddenjoke
All in all... I can't wait to play Halo Reach Beta.

Today is Bungie Day - the seventh day of the seventh month of the year - and we demand celebration.  Why?  Well, you might have noticed that our little studio has something of a historic fondness for the number 7. Our plan for World Domination is comprised of seven steps, our titles tend to wind up riddled with a healthy dose of the cardinal number 7, and though the fine folks over at Halopedia have done an admirable job of tallying the more overt examples of our numerical predilection, both in-game and on our website, the reality is that there are just too many obvious, subtle, and never-to-be-seen references to the number seven embedded into our works to track.  We have what you could call an affinity for the number. -bungie

Have you ever wanted to be as cool as those Generals in MLG? Or do you just want a high ranking? Well with these tips and notes. I can teach you how how to achieve rank 50 in MLG.

1. Be Confident! I cannot stress this enough. If you're going -15 then start yelling at your teammates because they're the reason you're doing so bad.
2. Don't play MM. Don't play any other game type other than MLG because everything else takes no skill.
3. You're better than you think. Ever get that feeling that you're a ton better than those bad kids that are kicking your ass? Blame it on Bungie or Host because there's just no fucking way that kid 4 shot you without host. Bungie purposely fucked up the game to piss you off so you have the right to blame them for all your shortcomings.
4. You can go pro. If you really put the time and effort you can really accomplish placing top 32 at an event. You HAVE to be the only kid in the world who wants to be a MLG PRO right?..... right?
5. Don't call out in custom games. Because that's what tryhards do and you don't want to be labeled a try hard right?
6. Laugh at everything the douche bag says. Remember kids, we ARE children so lets join in with the internet bully and make fun of Ragefury07 for being a staff captain. I mean, c'mon now, do you really think you're going to get anywhere else in life being a staff captain? Get real dude.
7. Get excited over everything you do. Don't be like all those losers who don't care every time they pull a no scope. You should be talking it up after every head shot like its your first. Only good kids get hyped over a no scope because it happens all the time.
