I'm going to be explaining all kinds of tips and tricks to outsmarting, outplaying your opponents from the basics to more advanced techniques. This will be updated constantly.

Intermediate
Once you progress as a player and begin to play against opposing teams that aren't complete noobs you'll have to be more cautious and smart about how you play. A big part about developing as an intermediate player is working on your awareness. Being aware of certain patterns and strategies makes you 5 times the player you are without it.

Spawns
How the Halo 3 Spawn System works- Although its practically impossible for someone to predict exactly where the enemy will spawn at all times, through experience you can learn where the opposing team is most likely to spawn.

Spawn Values- There are many variables in predicting spawns. Here is a list of what can affect a spawn.
Dead enemy- If a person on the opposing team dies then that general area has a very low chance of any enemy spawning there. This is probably the biggest factor when it comes to predicting enemy spawns
Grenades- Grenades also have a considerable impact on enemy spawns. When a nade goes off the areas around it have a lower chance of an enemy spawning there to prevent spawn killing. Some players throw nades on enemy spawns to prevent them from spawning there.
Alive Enemy- Teammates near spawns have a positive influence on the spawn area causing their dead teammates to spawn near them.

Note
These variables that affect spawns last for 20 seconds and start to decay as the time runs down.

Note
Some players believe that if you look in a certain direction towards spawns it gives those spawns a negative influence preventing the enemy from spawning in front of you. I personally think that this myth is true but it doesn't have a huge negative influence on the spawn.

Flanking
Most players ingame just charge in with almost no clue where the enemy is. Flanking the right way can be a huge momentum changer in any game. A good way to know how to flank is by being aware of your teamattes and where they're shooting allowing you to help them out and clean up their kills.
Here are some basic examples of flanking properly.
Scenario 1 - You're on training while your teammates are exchanging fire on both sides of green on the map, The Pit. The best way to flank would be to go swordbridge to their green to finish the enemy player off.

Using Cover
Using cover is what separates a smart player from a careless player. In my case I don't have a very good BR but I can still wreak havoc in a game by playing a support role by putting shots on everyone while calling out. Here are some good ways to use cover.
Engaging two enemies - If you're engaging two enemies, using cover could give your team a tremendous advantage. By positioning yourself to fight off one enemy. You might be able to at least take one enemy down and even if you don't get the kill it buys your teammates a ton of time to come help you out allowing them to know that there are 2 enemies nearby and one of them is weak.
Staying alive in a game- is much more important than most people think. If you can successful escape a bad situation in the game then you're making the enemy second guess what you're doing as well as frustrate them.

Map Tips and Strategies
Here are a bunch of threads dedicated to helping you understand certain maps and strategies used for each one.

Intermediate Tips and Tricks
Stop'n Go- This move works well with areas that provide a lot of cover. This technique takes some awareness, prediction, and a bit of luck. If you're being shot at and duck behind cover your enemy is very likely to nade you since he can't shoot so that's when you wait a second after ducking in cover then flee allowing you to dodge their grenade as well as not giving the enemy a chance to shoot you.
